IELTS (International English Language Testing System) provides a comprehensive evaluation of English language proficiency for non-native English speakers aiming to study, train, or work in English. The test is administered in the Netherlands and Belgium by the British Language Training Centre (BLTC) in conjunction with the British Council and Cambridge Assessment English. The test centres are conveniently located in Amsterdam, Barendrecht, Brussels, Den Bosch, Den Haag, Eindhoven, Rotterdam, and Zwolle.
IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, Cambridge Assessment and IDP.
- Globally, over 3 million individuals take the IELTS test each year.
- The test is administered in the Netherlands at least 5 times a week.
- IELTS assesses all four language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. It assigns individual scores for each skill, in addition to an overall score.
- The test is for either Academic or General Training skills.
- The test can be taken on paper or on computer.
- For IELTS on paper, results are accessible 13 days after the exam. For IELTS on computer, results are typically available within 3-5 days.
- Tests can also be arranged in educational and commercial institutions across the Netherlands.
- As a registered BLTC candidate, you gain access to a free 30-hour online preparation package called IELTS Premium.
- Please note that feedback is not provided for your IELTS exam.
All IELTS tests, whether computer-based or paper-based, are fully supervised. They are conducted exclusively at our test centres and authorized offsite locations within the Netherlands and Belgium, ensuring secure exam conditions.
Taking the IELTS test
Secure your spot through online registration, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that registering on the day of the test is not possible.
After making your payment, the confirmation email containing your payment and test date details may take up to 3 days to reach you, potentially longer if your payment is made before a weekend. This delay is due to our manual verification process, which involves cross-checking the ID document you provided during registration to ensure your personal information is accurately recorded in our system.
