Taking the IELTS test
The test is administered in the Netherlands for the British Council by the British Language Training Centre (BLTC) in conjunction with the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.

Application procedure for Online Registration
Click on the IELTS Online Registration link, select your test date and enter your personal details. Once your application has been submitted, you cannot go back to change your details. Transfer the test fee directly (within two days of registering). You will receive our bank details and further instructions in a summary after you have completed the online application process. If you are unable to upload your ID during the online applicaion process, send a clearly legible copy of your passport (ID cards will only be accepted if you are an EU national) by email to email@example.com no later than 5 days after registration.
There are a limited number of places available. Registration is online possible online on a first come, first served basis. You cannot register for the IELTS on the day of the test.
Pay the examination fee within two days after registering online using one of these methods:
A. Bank transfer to:
British Language Training Centre, ABN AMRO
Important! Please state: 'IELTS for [name], test date & telephone number'
B. PIN or cash at BLTC
Please note - all bank charges are the responsiblity of the applicant
- it is not possible to issue invoices for payments
- BLTC does not accept credit cards or use 'acceptgiros'
Office hours at BLTC
To pay at BLTC and submit your passport copy after registering online, please visit us during office hours:
Monday - Thursday 09:00 - 17.30
Friday 09:00 - 16:30
You must be present at the test centre on the test day between 08.15 – 09.00.
Testing begins at 09.00 and ends by 17.00
- Listening, Reading and Writing tests are in the morning between 9.00 - 12.30.
The listening test is conducted with loud speakers not headphones.
- Speaking test interviews (15 minutes) are scheduled in the afternoon between 13:00 - 17:00. At 12.30 on the day of the exam you will know the time of your speaking test.
Cancelling or postponing the test
Candidates who request a postponement or cancellation of their test within 5 weeks of the test date normally receive no refund, unless they are able to provide appropriate medical evidence to support their request. Only written evidence will be accepted. Candidates who request a postponement or cancellation more than 5 weeks before the test date will be charged an administration fee of € 40,-.
What help is available if you have special needs

If you require special administrative arrangements such as extra time, you must send medical documentation by email at least six weeks before your test date (firstname.lastname@example.org).
If you require a modified version of the test then please contact us by email (email@example.com) at least three months before your test and send us your medical documentation. This notice period is necessary for the modifed test version to be prepared.
Test Report Form - Certificate
Results will be available online 13 days after the test, and your personal copy of your certificate will be posted to you. Please note: this certificate cannot be replaced. Certificates are sent by regular post. Please contact us (firstname.lastname@example.org) for payment instructions if you would like us to send your certifcate by registered post.
What you can do if you are unhappy with your results
Candidates can apply for a re-mark (Enquiry on Results) at the centre where they took the test. This must be done within 6 weeks of the test date and costs 60 pounds sterling.
