Cambridge International Legal English Course: ILEC
The International Legal English Preparation Course is designed for law students or practicing lawyers who wish to enhance their English for employment in an International commercial law context. The course also prepares individuals for the Cambridge ILEC examination in all four skills; speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Aims of Course
- To improve ability to read and understand legal texts.
- To improve ability to write common legal texts in English.
- To increase comprehension and usage of spoken English at meetings, presentations, discussions and on the telephone.
- To enhance spoken fluency by providing practice in a range of speaking situations typical of legal practice e.g. client interviews and negotiations.
- To expand use of legal vocabulary and legal expressions.
- To upgrade usage of grammatical structures for accuracy when communicating.
- To familiarise participants with examination tasks and format.
