Taking the IELTS test

Test fee per person in 2010: € 182,50 (test fee is non-refundable).

Application procedure

Pay the examination fee IN ADVANCE of the test date by one of these methods:

A) bank transfer to: BLTC, ABN AMRO 54.76.79.386 Amsterdam

Important! Please state: ‘IELTS for (name), test date & telephone number’

For payments from outside the Netherlands only:

B) by PIN or cash at BLTC

Please note:
- cheques are not accepted
- all bank charges are the responsibility of the applicant
- BLTC does not use ‘acceptgiros’

Send the completed Application Form to BLTC together with 2 identical passport size photos (not older than 6 months) and a photocopy of your passport to:

Do not send applications forms by registered mail, normal post is actually quicker!

AFTER BLTC has received both your payment and completed Application Form (including your photos and photocopy of your passport) you will receive a letter confirming your exam date.

Cancelling or postponing the test

Candidates who request a postponement or cancellation of their test within 5 weeks of the test date normally receive no refund, unless they are able to provide appropriate medical evidence to support their request. Candidates who request a postponement or cancellation before 5 weeks of the test date will be charged an administration fee of € 40,-.

Full details of arrangements that are available for candidates with special needs are available on the IELTS website: www.ielts.org or you can contact the test centre directly.

What can you do if you are unhappy with your results

Candidates can apply for a re-mark (Enquiry on Results) at the centre where they took the test. This must be done within 6 weeks of the test date and costs 60 pounds sterling.
